winter hates us!

Winter has been way to long. We had a bad blizzard last nite, so much ice and sleet that it knocked the power out for 6 hours, ugh! That was bad enuf but I only had 1 candle jar (I dont trust my cats enuf to have candles around after the one nearly lit himself!) But it is very hard to stitch with one candle, how the heck did people do this years ago?? Today the wind is bad and it's bitterly cold so not much voluntary outside time is gonna happen today. It's been a sucky week anyway, as my beloved barrel horse Blue passed away at 28 years old, and then later that morning a section of the horse barn roof caved in from the weight of all the snow. No horses in there though which was a blessing! It's frustrating and depressing and too much for one day, but then my truck nearly died and limped into town to get fixed, at least I wasnt stranded but it seems like I was living a country song that day. I havta get all my tack and gear out of there now cuz it's exposed to the elements and Im not sure the tarps I put up were enuf, especially with the wind we're getting today. Whew, now that's outta my system- thanks for listening, y'all are awesome- I sunk my deflated mood into the Ness, due to it's auto-pilot design flow. As as you see the scroll bars section is nearly done, just have the needle cover bit to do and a flower on one of the panels. A closeup of the center panel shows the colors I chose better, and they are the same colors as my wedding roses. I plan to make some biscornus and fobs for this set as well, if I have any threads left over. After the Needle cover I still have 2 front panels to do and then it's assembly time! I was so hoping to get into the Chats this week but my plans just went haywire with all the hooha of this week. But today is Friday, snow day too, so maybe Ness will get closer to freeing up these scrolls for something else, if a Chat will fit that is...

So sorry to hear about Blue, it's so hard to lose a long time companion. You do need a weather/winter break - spring is making itself known here in central VA, hopefully it won't be long before it's there. Beautiful colors and stitching.

I am sorry you lost Blue. I am sure that horse meant a lot to you.
I am glad you've been able to stitch. You sure have skills!
